Every year, as I gear up for NaNoWriMo, I get a new notebook to plot and plan for that year’s novel. This year is no different.

I’d gone to the little hipster store to look at notebooks and there so many pretty ones. I was tempted by the lovely feline covered ones or even the thick hand bound ones but in the end, I decided to be practical and ended up at a normal bookstore and got an A5 sized, hardcover notebook.

As much as I would love to get the pretty ones, I knew that my horrendous handwriting would not live up to the pretty cover. It’s going to end up being banged up in my bag, scribbled on during my commute if I can and just flipped through during write-ins. It’s got to be hardy and the pretty ones weren’t.

So I’ve got my notebook and a new ball-point pen to use, I’m going to need to plot, plan and prep my gratuitous Mary Sue. Wish me luck.
